That’s STAY-sha. It rhymes with Croatia. Here’s a video, in case that’s helpful. A former manager once avoided speaking to me entirely rather than just ask. Don’t be that person.

The short version

More than just editing.

I’ve spent 20+ years perfecting other people’s words across 70+ clients, from Fortune 500 brands to debut novelists. Breaking news on deadline, brand campaigns, manuscripts, and content libraries that had quietly grown a mind of their own.

I got here sideways. I started in tech as a webmaster, which taught me how systems fit together, which turned out to be unusually useful for content. It’s why I’m as comfortable in your CMS and editorial calendar as I am in your draft.

Somewhere along the way, I became the person teams call when the content really matters, and nobody has the hours to get it right. That’s not a complaint—it’s a superpower, and it’s exactly what Revise & Shine is built on.

Because poor communication is expensive. Muddled messages, unclear copy, confused customers. My job is to make sure your message comes through with clarity, credibility, and confidence—and none of the AI-generated mediocrity.

The Whole Point

What sets me apart

Formally trained.
Practically obsessed.

My education includes a BS in Computer & Information Sciences from Niagara University and professional certificates in Marketing and Editing from UC Berkeley. Yes, I’m a formally trained editor—not a writer who kinda has a knack for it.

But credentials only tell part of the story. The rest is 20+ years of hands-on work with 70+ clients—from major brands like Mercedes-Benz and King’s Hawaiian to solo entrepreneurs building their practices from scratch.

What that experience gave me: I don’t just make your content read well. I understand your workflow and how your content fits your bigger business picture. I find what’s broken and fix it—whether that’s a typo, a formatting inconsistency, or an entire content workflow that’s quietly costing you hours every week.

Editorial Expertise

Formally trained across copy, line, developmental, and substantive editing. AP, Chicago, house style.

Marketing Strategy

Content that’s clear isn’t enough. It has to connect to your business goals and reach the right people.

I work in whatever you use—WordPress, Google Suite, Asana, Canva, Kajabi to name just a few—and I’m quick to learn the rest. Don’t see yours? Ask.

Why work with me

Not big agencies.
Real people. Real work.

I’ve worked with plenty of businesses with shiny logos and big budgets. I’m more interested in applying those same skills one-on-one with individual founders, small teams, and authors so they can spend more time doing the work they actually love.

I’ve worked with clients ranging from Fortune 500 brands to debut novelists to pharmaceutical campaigns to music-magazine reviews. Every project gets the same attention to detail and strategic thinking—because that’s just how I’m wired.

A fair amount of that work arrives through other people—designers, agencies, and consultants who hit the point where a client needs words rather than visuals. If that’s you, here’s how partnering works.

Off the clock

When I’m not fixing other people’s content…

Reading: Usually more than one book at a time, absolutely no shame about it.

Concerts, puzzles, and lists: Yes, I make lists in my downtime, too. I’m that person.

Traveling: Possibly to a mountain winery or a cooking class in Florence. And preferably by train.

I live in Baltimore, Maryland, with my husband, Mike, and Mia—our very opinionated tuxedo cat, who weighs in on most topics, invited or not.
